On the behalf of Vattenfall, Scanscot Technology has received the commission to carry out a structural verification of the Ringhals Unit 1 reactor containment, and to determine the ultimate capacity of the containment vessel structure. The project includes verification of the vessel and the internal structure. The verification is based on non-linear three-dimensional finite element models of the reactor containment vessel and the internal structure.
